NHR 9430-96 Regenerative 4-Quadrant AC Load
The NH Research 9430-96 Regenerative 4-Quadrant AC Load is a high-performance, current-regulated AC load designed for testing and simulating both linear and non-linear loads. With an input voltage range of 10 to 175 VRMS or up to 350 VRMS (L-N), it enables single-phase, split-phase, and three-phase setups and can handle frequencies ranging from 30Hz to 880Hz. When operating in single or three-phase configurations, the load has a power limit of 96kW and a maximum apparent power capacity of 252 kVA. It can handle current limits of up to 720A per phase. With voltage ranges up to 400VDC and a current maximum of 720A, the device also allows DC input loading.
The 4-quadrant function of the NHR 9430-96, which enables it to both source and sink power and return energy to the grid rather than releasing it as heat, is one of its most sophisticated characteristics. Because of this feature, it's perfect for evaluating reactive loads under real-world circumstances, such inverters, UPS systems, and AC sources. This is further improved by the HiVAR design, which simulates situations in which reactive power (VAR) is 2.6 times more than actual power (watts) and permits reactive load testing.
With its several emulation modes—constant current, constant resistance, constant power, and constant apparent power—the NHR 9430-96 can accurately simulate a wide range of load circumstances. Users may build and alter waveforms using its integrated graphical editor and macro capability, which makes it possible to emulate waveform abnormalities, transients, and distortions for more thorough testing.
Due to its regenerative design, this load returns more than 90% of the power it consumes to the facility mains, resulting in a testing environment that is more effective and substantial energy savings. Moreover, a high-resolution waveform digitizing digital measuring system that can analyze voltage, current, and power in detail across all channels is included into the system.
